Tithing is our tent percent of our income unto God, or into the kingdom of God rather.
Just like a formal government, not paying tax won’t stop you from being a citizen, but it will denied you of some benefit from the government, and you won’t be recognized as a patriot citizen.
Some don’t believe in tithe, other argument was that it was an old testament commandment. Really?
We all came through Abraham, and Abraham paid tithe, and we have only two laws, the old testament and the new testament, the law and grace.
Abraham paid tithe before the law, because the law started with Moses and Grace started with Christ Jesus.
Hebrew 7 verses 1, For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
Hebrew 7 verses 2, To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
Abraham paid tithe to Melchisedec, and Hebrew 6 verses 20, the bible says that Jesus was after the order of Melchisedec, and Christ the Melchisedec of the Grace period, the new testament.
We need to pay our tithe to Jesus Christ, just like God has chosen Christ, on whom all our sacrifices should come to.
Deuteronomy 12 verses 5 But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
In the new testament, the levites that receive the tithe is the five fold ministry.
If you believe that tithe was an old testament practice, then you are actually saying that we didn’t come through Abraham, or rather you didn’t come through Abraham.
If Abraham paid tithe, why won’t we pay tithe.
Do you know that the old testament was not abolished, rather God sent forth Christ to be a propitiation for us, that through Him we might be save.
Genesis chapter 28 verses 22, And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God’s house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
Hebrew chapter 7 verses 8, And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.
Jacob paid tithe unto the Lord God, as we read in Genesis 28 verses 22.
In my cause of study, i discover two type of commandment of ordinance of God.
One is by example.
The second is by commandment.
The two is the same, but a little bit different.
The ordinance by example is in John 13, about feet washing.
John 13 verses 14, If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Verse 15, For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.
By example is this, we must do as the Lord has done, period.
The ordinance by commandment is baptism and communion.
Matthew chapter 28 verses 19, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
This is ordinance by commandment, the Holy Ghost will give us the interpretation, rightly dividing the word. By example Ordinance, Christ was on earth with us, by commandment ordinance, the Holy Ghost was in us, bearing witness that we are the sons of God.
This is were many gets it wrong, for not rightly dividing the word, they don’t have the Holy Ghost. Some won’t even believe in baptism, nor baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.
First Corinthians chapter 11verses 25, After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
By the direction of the Holy Ghost, we know that the bread should be without yeast, and the wine should have a very low percentage of alchol, which signifies the Holy Ghost.
But some rather uses bread that has yeast, some even uses biscuits, and juice, they have not discern the body of the Lord.
Tithing is a kingdom principle, as a Christian, as a child of God you need to acknowledge God with your increase, because he is the one that giveth thee power to make wealth.
Abraham paid tithe, Jacob paid tithe, if they are the patriarch we need to follow suit and pay our tithe.
